Keratin Treatment Tips
STEP 1 – CLARIFY
Massage a quarter- sized amount of PerfectPrep Pre- Treatment Clarifying Shampoo throughout wet hair and scalp. Wash virgin hair three times and all other hair types two times. Do not rinse completely between each wash, allowing lather to build. After the final shampoo, rinse thoroughly. Do not condition.
PERFECT TIP:
It is important that you shampoo with the PerfectPrep Pre-Treatment Clarifying Shampoo to prep your hair for treatment. Our special cleanser has the perfect pH to open the cuticle and allows the keratin formula to penetrate and do its job. Do not use any other clarifying shampoo with this treatment.
STEP 2 – TOWEL DRY
Towel dry hair until damp and gently comb to detangle. The hair will feel squeaky clean—this means it is clarified and ready for treatment.
Shake ThePerfector tube well and pump product into palms or directly onto the hair. Follow the guide below to determine how much product is needed for your hair type.
STEP 2: THE SMOOTHING STEP
Shake ThePerfector 30-Day Hair Smoothing Treatment tube well. Pump product directly onto hair or pour into the enclosed PerfectMeasure Cup. Short, ear-length hair will need 1 to 1.5 ounces; shoulder-length hair will need 1.5 to 2 ounces; and very long or coarse hair (hair that goes below bra length) will need 2 to 2.5 ounces.
HAIR LENGTH GUIDE:

Part your hair down the middle and separate into 4 sections, leaving one section down. Twist up and secure remaining sections using the clips provided. Starting with the section at the back of your neck, begin applying treatment directly onto 2-inch sections of hair. Using the PerfectComb, comb the treatment through each section to evenly distribute.
After applying the treatment to the entire head, comb through your hair for 3 minutes, combing away from your face. Be sure to brush both the top and the underside of your hair, and make sure that the treatment is
thoroughly applied to the back of the head. Do not rinse. Allow treatment to process for 10 minutes. Remove any excess product with the comb provided.
PERFECT TIP:
Though it’s important to coat each strand thoroughly with ThePerfector treatment, do not over-saturate your hair—applying too much product may make your hair feel greasy and heavy. It will also make your hair more difficult to blow-dry and flat iron. Make sure you distribute the treatment thoroughly from root to tip (even at the back of your head), then comb through to remove excess product. You may also use a towel to blot some of the excess solution. Your hair will feel slightly slippery to the touch, but rest assured that the treatment will absorb completely after you blow-dry.
STEP 3: TIME TO BLOW-DRY
After the 10-minute processing time, blow-dry your hair until completely dry.
STEP 4: SEALING THE KERATIN, THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP
The flat ironing step will infuse the keratin into your hair and close the cuticle, leaving a smooth, shiny finish. We’ve made it easy to choose a safe flat iron temperature for your hair type—just follow our guide below.

Part your hair down the middle and divide into 4 even sections, leaving one section down at the back of your neck. Starting with this section, flat iron 1- to 2-inch sections of hair carefully. To prevent singeing your hair, do not allow the iron to stop on one area. Pass over each section 3 to 10 times with the flat iron, depending on hair type (see guide). Hold each piece away from your face and lead with the comb as you pass the flat iron through your hair. The comb will help guide and control each section as you flat iron. Continue with remaining sections.
PERFECT TIP:
You’ve almost arrived at perfectly smooth hair, but don’t rush this crucial step. It is important to iron your hair slowly and thoroughly to ensure that the keratin is fully infused into the hair shaft.
